The Artist

Asil Argun (b. 1993, Antalya, Turkey) is a contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice bridges fine-art painting, large-scale murals, and tattoo art as coequal forms of expression. For over fifteen years he has conceptually unified these three disciplines — a journey that began in 2010 with graffiti and urban street art.

he graduated as an Honour Student from the Department of Animation and Cartoon Filmmaking at Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Faculty of Fine Arts, in 2015. His international breakthrough came in 2017 as a finalist at the Art Revolution Taipei Grand Prize Competition in Taiwan, leading to exhibitions across museums and galleries in Taipei.

In 2017 he enrolled in the Master’s programme in Art and Design at Akdeniz University, later channelling his full focus into independent studio production, large-scale spatial interventions, and tattoo art. His murals have transformed public and luxury spaces for brands including Red Bull, Turkish Airlines, Duracell, Nirvana Hotels and Rixos Hotels.

His 2022 debut solo exhibition at Maji Art Gallery, Istanbul, drew strong interest from collectors, followed by a second solo show in 2024 at Bi’Nevi Art Gallery in Nişantaşı.
